THIS is the father who was given a lifesaving heart transplant to allow him to see his baby son born.
Ben Knight, 26, faced a desperate race against time as doctors tried to find him a donor heart and he feared he was going to die before his son was born.
But they managed to find him a heart, just as time was running out, and baby Oscar arrived into the world eight weeks later.
Relieved Mr Knight was able to meet his son and now will be able to see him grow up, thanks to his lifesaving transplant.
Mr Knight, a car salesman, who lives in Simonstone, Lancashire, with his partner Lindsey Burtonwood, also 26, said: ‘I’d been critically ill in hospital for six weeks waiting for a transplant and I really thought time was running out for me.
