| WITHOUT a mother to snuggle up to, these tiny orphan elephants have the next best thing.
The huge grey blankets hung out in the African bush may not be fooling anyone - but for the frightened and lonely orphaned babies, they prove to be the perfect surrogate mothers.
In order for them to feed, the tiny babies have to feel something on the end of their trunks to mimic their mother’s stomach.
And the blankets provide that - hung up in the bush by keepers at the world renowned elephant orphanage, run by Daphne Sheldrick and her daughter Angela. |

These amazing cute triplet pups have all been born with no front legs - but that isn’t stopping them.
When they realised they couldn’t get around like normal dogs on four legs, the three brave chihuahuas came up with an ingenious plan of their own.
So they stood upright on their two legs, and with the help of daily physiotherapy to help strengthen their muscles, the tiny threesome can now get about with no problem.
They are the world’s first triplet dogs ever born with just two legs - who can now get around by walking on their two back legs.

Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti has died at his home in the northern city of Modena, his manager has announced.
