My son Jason had been out late and when he eventually arrived a our front door, covered in leaves and dirt, I shouted at him. ‘What time do you call this, you were supposed to be home hours ago,’ I shouted. I have a 50 per cent chance of making it through the next five years. It’s like a death sentence hanging over me and I have to live with it every day. I look at my daughter and wonder if I’ll be around to see her grow up. I’m very careful about her going out in the sun now, and make sure she always wears proper sunscreen and doesn’t get burnt. I would just want people to learn from reading my story, that the sun is a dangerous thing. ( borrett , skin cancer )
