THESE are the miracle twins who have BOTH beaten cancer. Ethan and Kai Thompson have both just celebrated winning their battle with leukaemia - a battle which began when they were just a year old. The identical twins are so close they have both helped each other through - and their delighted mother said they couldn’t have done it without each other. Rachel Thompson, 40, a charity support worker, said: ‘It was a real shock when the twins were both diagnosed with cancer within a year of each other. ‘But having each other go through it too really helped both of them. They were there for each other throughout all the treatment. ‘Having each other’s support has helped them both beat it.’

WHEN Angela Verdon saw a photograph of herself next to a model of Humpty Dumpty she knew that had to take action. She was so embarrassed that her 19 stone 13 frame looked similar to the overweight nursery rhyme character. It took another 18 months for her to finally pluck up the courage to join a local slimming group.

I will never forget that awful phone call. ‘Katrina’s had a heart attack,’ said her former partner Danny. I couldn’t take it in. Katrina was only 34 and fit and healthy. How could she have possibly had a heart attack. She was much too young. But it certainly looked that way. She had collapsed at the bottom of the stairs, right infront of her ten year old son Lewis.
