WHEN Victoria Martindale-Wood was born weighing just 14 ounces, doctors thought she couldn't possibly survive. Her mother Tracy gave birth to her at just 24 weeks - and tiny Victoria measured just nine inches. Weighing less than a pound, Victoria was believed to be the second smallest baby ever to be born in the UK. Her survival was seen as not only miraculous because of her tiny size - but she truly beat all the odds after surviving a car crash whilst she was still in her mother’s womb. Now after celebrating her fourth birthday, Victoria is about to start school next month - even though her mother struggled to find a school uniform small enough for her.

WHEN Sarah O’Boyle used to walk down the street, strangers used to stop her and ask her when her baby was due. Her stomach was the size of a nine month baby bump and had been steadily growing for more than ten years. Eventually Mrs O’Boyle went to see her GP complaiining of what she thought was Irritable Bowel Syndrome - and made a startling discovery. An ultrasound scan showed that she actually had a large cyst in her stomach - the size of THREE newborn babies - which had been growing inside her for nearly 15 years.

WHEN Faye Wells bought her size 14 wedding dress, she knew she had to take drastic measures to fit into it. She was a size 24, and weighed 15 stone, and knew that she would have to shed at least four stone to fit into her dream dress. So she opted for drastic gastric surgery and had a gastric band fitted, and by the time of her wedding day ten months later, she was a slim size 14. Mrs Wells, 33, said: ‘Not many brides can say they had a gastric band fitted in order to get into their wedding dress. ‘It was drastic, but I had tried every diet under the sun, and had never managed to lose more than a few pounds. ‘When I fitted into my size 14 dress on the day, I was thrilled to bits. I felt like a million dollars, and it was the best thing I could have done.’
