THIS is the brave little boy who has beaten testicular cancer at the age of four. Doctors discovered a tennis ball sized lump in his right testicle in March and since then little Connor has undergone rounds of gruelling chemotherapy treatment to beat the disease. He is only one of a handful of boys under the age of ten who develop the disease each year as it is a cancer more commonly found in men aged 15 to 45. Luckily doctors caught Connor?s cancer early, and now his relieved parents have brought him home from hospital after finishing his treatment. His recovery is made all the more remarkable by his own mum Kimberly Anderson beating cancer twice herself - once when she was Connor?s age. Mum Kimberley, 25, said: ?I never imagined that someone as young as Connor could even get testicular cancer.

THESE are the miracle twins born after their mother took the sex drug Viagra in a desperate attempt to conceive. Yvonne Finlayson went to Los Angeles to beg doctors for help in becoming a mother after three attempts at IVF in the UK failed. Mrs Finalyson had a womb lining that was so thin that an embryo couldn’t implant properly. So doctors at the Sher Institute of Reproduction treated Mrs Finlayson with the sex drug Viagra and her miracle twins Lewis and Ava were born last April. Mrs Finalyson, 36, a management consultant, who lives with husband Mark Ruston, 35, a Royal Naval Officer, in Glasgow, said: ‘It really is amazing that using Viagra for a medical treatment has allowed me to give birth to my beautiful twins.

DONNA Barton and her sister Sonia could almost be twins as they have led an amazing parallel life. The two sisters have married two brothers - and even gave birth to their babies on the same day. Members of their family can’t believe the amazing string of coincidences that began when Donna, at the age of 14, struck up a friendship with Adrian Barton who lived down the road. Her sister Sonia, 42, said: ‘No-one can quite believe it when they know that Donna and I married two brothers - let alone when we gave birth to our daughters on the same day. ‘Our lives have been more identical than if we had been born identical twins.’

THIS is the amazing dog who has astounded experts with his survival after being born with two hearts. Golden retriever Alfie wasn’t expected to survive after being born with an extra heart chamber that was attached to his normal heart. His previous owners put an advert on the internet after his rare condition was diagnosed and he was taken in by veterinary nurse Emma Foxhall. She raised the £3000 needed for him to have pioneering lifesaving treatment at Liverpool University Small Animal Hospital - an operation which vets had never carried out before. They managed to replumb his extra heart chamber into his existing heart - and now it has saved his life.

My son Alex and I stood at the top of the aisle, waiting to walk down to meet my groom Wayne. Alex was just seven and he’d been so excited about giving me away on our wedding day. But as we stodd waiting for the music to start up, he turned to me and said his leg was hurting. I thought it must be cramp. ‘You’ll be alright,’ I reassurred him as we started on our walk down the aisle. I was thrilled to be marrying Wayne, now 35. We had been together since 1992 after meeting in a local pub. I’d gone with a group of friends and Wayne was the DJ that night and we got chatting. 12 months later we got engaged, but I quickly fell pregnant with Alex and we put our wedding plans on the back burner and concentrated on bringing up our baby. But then in the summer of 2000 I lost both of my parents to cancer and I’d spent months nursing them both.

AS I cradled my daughter Sophie in my arms, I felt a great sense of relief. For nearly 30 years I had struggled with the eating disorder bulimia, and now I knew I could finally put it behind me. Sophie was my third baby. I’d already given birth to Joshua, six, and Molly, two, and from the moment I gave birth to Joshua I knew that I had to beat the bulimia demons that had haunted me for three decades and concentrate on being a good mum. But each time I fell pregnant again and my body swelled with pregnancy, I turned to the bulimia for comfort.

WHEN Stephanie Munton gave birth to each of her three previous children, she knew that the next time she fell pregnant it would be a big baby too. Two of her previous children had weighed over ten pounds (4.5 kg) , and her third child had weighed in at 11Ib9. But even Mrs Munton was shocked when doctors held up her fourth child Charlie, who was born in January. He tipped the scales at a whopping 13Ib4 - after she had given birth to him naturally, with only a touch of gas and air. Her pregnancy bump had measured a staggering 60 inches across a few days before she gave birth. Mrs Munton, 41, a teacher, said: ‘I’ve given birth to all my children naturally, although with Charlie he was definitely the hardest to push out. ‘I only had gas and air for pain relief, and I couldn’t believe it when they held him up afterwards as he looked as big as a six month old baby.

IT certainly was a speedy delivery - as Iris Hurst made her way into the world at 70mph. Her mother Joanne, 31, had started her labour when partner Simon Noble drove her to hospital. But within minutes, Iris had started to make her appearance and frantic Simon hit 70mph as he dashed to the hospital to try and make it in time. But it was up to Miss Hurst’s mother Patricia to act as an emergency midwife in the backseat, as Iris decided she couldn’t wait for her dad to arrive at the hospital. As the needle hit 70mph, Mrs Hurst delivered her granddaughter, who weighed a healthy 6Ib5 on the back seat of the family estate car.
