THESE are the amazing twin boys who have made medical history after being born with only half a heart each. In the first known case of its kind in the world, Sebastian and Stefan Taylor have been born with a rare heart condition which means that only half their hearts function as they should. Both the boys were born with hypoplastic heart syndrome, which means the left sides of their hearts have not developed properly. There has never been a case before in the world where doctors have seen non identical twins being born with it, as their conditions are not related. They were conceived from two separate eggs and had their own placentas in their mother’s womb. ( Bland )

WHEN doctors advised Michelle Owen that she should be planning her unborn baby’s funeral she was heartbroken. At her 20 week pregnancy scan doctors discovered that her son’s tiny kidneys were crushed beyong repair and they offered her the decision to terminate his life. When she refused they told her that he had less than a three percent chance survival and were advised to start planning his funeral. So she and her husband Meredydd, 31, a senior council worker, bought him a tiny outfit to be buried in, and also bought him a blue teddy bear which they planned to put inside his coffin too. I undressed with the lights off and slid into bed besides my husband Chris, to ashamed to let him see me naked. My boobs just hung down like two empty sacs of skin and I was too embarrassed to let him see me. ‘I love you just the way you are,’ he insisted. But I was adamant. There was no way that Chris was ever going to be able to take a proper look at my boobs. I was too ashamed of them. ( walker )

My husband Steve ran his hand over his stomach. ‘Look its starting to swell,’ he said to me. ‘You’ve obviously got pregnancy symptoms in sympathy with me,’ I laughed. It was true. I was then four months pregnant with our son Coby, now 18 months, and my bump was starting to show. And it was as though Steve was coming out in sympathy with me, as his stomach had started to swell a little, just like mine had. ( prescott )

THIS is the amazing little boy whose heart mended itself after doctors feared he wouldn’t survive. Tiny Joel Bearder was born with such deformities to the left pumping chamber of his heart that doctors said there was no hope of curing it. So his parents took him home, fearing that they may have just days left with him. But now he has astounded doctors after the chamber mended itself and the heart started working normally, allowing him to make a full recovery. His relieved mother Gaynor, 34, a former branch manager of a building society, said: ‘I brought Joel home from the hospital and I would hold him close, not daring to love him as I thought we were going to lose him. ‘We knew that the doctors couldn’t do anything to mend his heart, so we thought we were on borrowed time with him. ‘When they told us that his heart had started to mend itself with no explanation we just couldn’t dare believe it.

‘You’ve got a baldy patch,’ said the toddler standing infront of me, pointing at my head. I could never escape from the fact that I had a big patch of hair missing, and the children that I worked with as a nursery nurse were quick to point it out. I’d had cancer as an 11 year old and I’d lost all my hair when I had chemotherapy treatment. ( cameron )

About 65 miners are feared dead after rainfall triggered the collapse of mines in Tanzania, the government says. Six bodies have so far been recovered in the Mererani region, about 40km (25 miles) south-east of Arusha in north-eastern Tanzania. Rescuers say the flooding is hampering their efforts and there is little hope of finding anyone else alive. The area mines Tanzanite, a valuable blue gemstone found only in a small area near Arusha. Ten years ago more than 100 Tanzanite miners died in an accident caused by heavy rain. "We are still working to see how to rescue the bodies, because personally, I don't think there's hope of getting them alive," Said Local MP Christopher Ole Sendeka at the scene of rescue efforts.
