HORNER. THREE WOMEN JOIN FORCES TO CREATE BABY - IN UK FIRST CASE

THREE women have joined forces to create a baby in the first known case of its kind in the UK. Claire Horner has battled through breast cancer three times and doctors warned her not to fall pregnant again as there was a risk of the cancer returning. She was desperate for a brother or sister for her four year old son Jack, so she turned to friends Cheryl Richardson and Cathy Sidaway for help. In the remarkable case, Miss Sidaway has donated the egg, Mr Horner has donated the sperm, and Mrs RIchardson has agreed to act as a surrogate to carry the baby. Mrs Richardson is now more than 12 weeks pregnant - in a case which fertility experts believe is the first of its kind in the UK.
