MY NEIGHBOUR SAVED MY LIFE
I’d known my neighbour Erica Hogan for a while. I was struggling with my health, and Erica had offered to help me pick my sons up from school.
She was always there to give me a helping hand, she was such a good friend as well as a neighbour. I always thought that I wouldn’t have known what to do sometimes, if it hadn’t been for her.
I’d been poorly since 2009 when routine blood tests revealed that I was suffering from a rare liver disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. The disease attacks the bile ducts leading to liver damage and eventually liver failure.
I was totally shocked when I was given the news by the doctors. I’d just gone in expecting routine blood test results, but then to be told that was just shocking.
