THESE are the miracle twins - who have survived after their mother developed lifethreatening sepsis whilst she was in LABOUR. It was touch and go for Michelle Shaw and her unborn twins when she developed the lethal condition just six hours into giving birth in September. She suddenly became unwell and doctors leapt into action to save her life and the twins - by delivering them by emergency caesarian and pumping her full of antibiotics.

My newborn baby was handed to me and as I gazed down at him, I just felt emptiness. There was no massive wave of love sweeping over me as Iíd expected it too. My hubby Robert, 35, and I had been thrilled when I had fallen pregnant. Weíd got married a few years before after meeting at a call centre where we both worked. When I fell pregnant we were both over the moon, but then when our son Ryan actually arrived, it felt so different from what I was expecting.

WHEN she was born Mollie Perrin was so tiny she weighed just 1Ib - making her one of Britainís smallest babies. Mrs Davis was heartbroken when her son Liam died after a sneezing fit caused him to suffer a fatal brain haemorrhage in June 2013. Unbeknown to the family, his heart was donated to 52 year old Alex Bell, who was dying in hospital after his heart function plummeted to just 5 per cent. The transplant saved Mr Bellís life and he always wanted to say thank you to the family who made the selfless decision to donate.
