A revolutionary treatment available for NHS patients for the first time ever in the UK is set to save a mother of four. And doctors are now hoping to save many more lives on the back of her treatment. Gail Nicholls, 47, had a ONE IN A MILLION cancer, and was facing a certain death sentence. AS Colette Reed cuddles her son Otis, she knows that it has taken a very special gift to make her a mum. It is the end of an eight year battle to become a mum - after she was diagnosed with kidney failure. She lost three babies before she was told by doctors not to even try to get pregnant as her kidneys were so badly damaged.

Id known my neighbour Erica Hogan for a while. I was struggling with my health, and Erica had offered to help me pick my sons up from school. She was always there to give me a helping hand, she was such a good friend as well as a neighbour. I always thought that I wouldnt have known what to do sometimes, if it hadnt been for her. Id been poorly since 2009 when routine blood tests revealed that I was suffering from a rare liver disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. The disease attacks the bile ducts leading to liver damage and eventually liver failure. I was totally shocked when I was given the news by the doctors. Id just gone in expecting routine blood test results, but then to be told that was just shocking. When they told me that most people with the condition needed a liver transplant after about ten years I was horrified. Id always been healthy up until then, so it was shocking new

WHEN Claire Glenville received a shocking diagnosis of breast cancer, her first thought was to help save others. So before she underwent an operation to remove her breast to try and save her life, she took a photo of her breast, which had a ten cms tumour behind the nipple.
