WHEN Neil and Jo Padmore desperately wanted another baby, they came up with an unusual solution. The two sons Jack and Noah had been diagnosed with a lifethreatening genetic condition - and both needed lifesaving live transplants to survive. They couldnít risk having another baby together as it had a 50 per cent chance of being born with same genetic condition as their two sons. So they enlisted the help of an anonymous sperm donor - and Mrs Padmore fell pregnant using another manís sperm. Their baby daughter Evie was born in July last year - yet only Mrs Padmore is her biological parent.

WHEN Rebecca Rowe decided to try for a baby, she decided to take a bit of neighbourly advice. Neighbours Abi Gilmore and Vicki Fenson had both touched the seven foot high ancient fertility stone that stood in the cobbled yard at the back of their houses. Both Mrs Fenson and Miss Gilmore had fallen pregnant immediately after touching the stone, which local legend says increases a womanís fertility. Within a few weeks of Mrs Rowe touching the stone to try and boost her chances - she was pregnant.

THIS is the mum who has beaten the odds to come back from holiday in Turkey TWICE with a set of twins. Amazingly Heddwyn Gunes discovered she was pregnant after each holiday - six years apart - and then discovered she was pregnant with twins each time. THIS is the mum who has astounded the medics after giving birth to her second set of twins - despite having been through the menopause. Clare Tellwright thought she would have to forget her dreams of adding to her family when she went through a premature menopause aged just 21. She had already given birth to one set of twins and doctors told her that it was unlikely she would be able to have any more children. She had been put into a premature menopause to try and treat the painful condition endometriosis and doctors feared it would end her ability to conceive. But she amazed the doctors when three years later she fell pregnant naturally - and discovered she was carrying yet another set of twins.

THIS mum and daughter have made medical history - by becoming the first mum and daughter surrogates in the UK. When Becky Shields saw her selfless mum Jacqui give birth to FIVE babies for different childless couples, she was inspired to follow in her footsteps. So last year, even though she had never had a baby of her own, Becky, 21, decided to help a childless couple. She fell pregnant last April after artificial insemination and in December gave birth to the coupleís daughter. The remarkable birth has meant that the mum and daughter became Britainís first ever mum and daughter surrogate team. Becky, who lives in Winsford, Cheshire, said: ĎIím incredibly proud to have followed in my mumís footsteps. Even though I hadnít had a baby of my own I wanted to help someone else, just like she did.í

THE job of a potential bridesmaid is usually a serious one - but Katrina Huggins took it more seriously than most. When her sister Melissa was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour she cancelled her own wedding day in order to help pay for her sisterís pioneering treatment. The £250,000 treatment in the USA was Melissaís only hope of survival - after doctors in the UK gave up hope. The family started fundraising and devoted sister Katrina cancelled her own wedding day to put the funds instead towards her sister's treatment. And her devotion has paid off. Recent scans have shown that the tumours have significantly shrunk. And her amazing survival against the odds has meant Melissa was able to tie the knot with fiancť James Pegram last month - and Katrina is also now set to walk down the aisle in a few weeks time.
