THIS time last year her life hung in the balance and her parents didnít know whether she would even survive. Little Rosie Wright had been critically injured in the Dreamspace art show disaster, which killed two people in July last year. She had suffered a punctured lung, broken ankle, thigh, collarbone, ribs and back, aswell as a lacerated liver and head wounds. But against all the odds, exactly a year after the accident, Rosie has recovered from her injuries and now is running in the local park, much to the delight of her mum Penny. Mrs Wright, 39, a full time mother, who lives in Chester le Street, County Durham, said: ĎIt really is wonderful to see how Rosiehas made such a remarkable recovery. You would never think it was the same little girl who was so badly injured just a year ago.

Kelly, who is now 16, had been born with cystic fibrosis - but that had never stopped her singing. Right from being little, her voice was sweet and clear, and she was always singing. Cystic fibrosis damages the lungs, and many sufferers find it hard to breathe. But it didnít stop Kelly from singing. I used to call her my little pied piper - as when she started to sing, people would stop and listen. Everyone just falls in love with Kelly when they hear her voice - it is just magical. But now time is running out for Kelly. She needs a new pair of lungs, or else my little songbird wil be silenced for ever. But there is one problem. Kelly has got a bug growing in her lungs, which means the doctors canít carry out a lung transplant, as it would kill her. But she wonít survive either without a transplant, so we are just hoping the bug clears up in time for her to have a transplant. But even though she desperately needs a transplant, it still doesnít stop Kelly from singing.

Most women expect to put on a few stone when pregnant and they hide their growing stomachs under maternity clothes. But not Monica Martinsen, who managed to lose a staggering eight stone during her pregnancy. She was losing so much weight each month in a desperate desire to shed her bulk, that she didnít even realise she was pregnant until she only a few weeks away from giving birth. Mrs Martinsen, 33, who runs her own IT company with husband Jonas, 33, was a massive 22 stone when she had a gastric bypass operation in a bid to lose weight. Over the next eight months she shed a staggering eight stone - and it was only when she had lost the weight that she discovered she had an unexpected baby bump underneath. Eight weeks later she gave birth to her son Gustav, now four months old.

OLA Morgan has to bravely ride her bike with no arms - as callous thieves stole her special electronic arm. Ola, ten, was fitted with the prosthetic arm seven years ago after being born without a left arm as an aftermath of Chenobyl. But in December she went to school and the arm was taken out of her schoolbag - much to the horror of her mother Julie, 38. Now brave Ola is having to fundraise herself, by doing sponsored bike rides, in order to raise the funds needed to buy her a new arm. Mrs Morgan, a full time carer, who has also just been diagnosed with cancer, said: ĎOla went to school that morning with her arm, and later, it was taken out of her schoolbag. ĎIím sure it was just some children having a joke. But weíve never found the arm since, and it really is a lifeline for her.

My daughter Samantha was wheeled down to the operating theatre, and I was just praying that she would pull through the operation. It was an operation to mend a valve in her heart - but I had more reason than most mums for being terrified of my daughter being taken down for such an operation. I had already lost my husband Gary at the age of 48 - when he was on the operating table to mend a faulty valve - just like Samantha. Iíd already lost him - so I was terrified that I was going to lose my daughter too. ( wooding )
